Pumpkin Pet Costume – Dog Costumes
What a cutie! Your dog will look adorable in this sweet pumpkin patch costume! I love the little hat that looks like the stem and leaves. And the way the costume is puckered and gathered all the way around the dog, it does look like a pumpkin!
Pumpkin Dog Costume This cute little pumpkin dog outfit is for smaller to medium sized dogs. I love the hat on this one too. It’s rounded to give the appearance of a pumpkin top.
Most people think pumpkins have always been used in making Jack O Lanterns but actually they have been used for only a few hundred years. In Europe, Jack O Lanterns were carved from turnips or potatoes.
Pumpkins actually originated in North America. Probably Mexico. They have been grown in America for over 5,000 years. But now they are grown in almost every continent. The only continent they aren’t grown in is Antartica. 80% of pumpkins are harvested and used in October. Wonder why???
American Indians used pumpkins not only just for food, but also as medicine. I’d love to know how they were used as medicine.

That is just hilarious! You could have a caption competition for the best “what is this dog thinking” sentence.
Mine would be (for the little dog lying down):
“I fetch you your smelly slippers every morning, and this is how you repay me!”

What a great idea for a dog costume. I know many people who call their dogs “my little pumpkin” and now it really can become just that. It is interesting that a pumpkin is both a fruit and a squash. This would be a cool costume for when you open the door when people are trick or treating.

These are adorable. My husband’s nickname for me is pumpkin, so maybe this halloween I’ll dress our Schnauzer up as a pumpkin, and then we’ll both be super endearing.
Thanks for the pumpkin trivia… I can’t imagine a pie with a 5 foot diameter. I bet it was good!

What a wonderful concept for any dog costume. I know many people who call their dogs “my tiny pumpkin” and now it genuinely can grow to be just that. It’s intriguing that a pumpkin is both a fruit as well as a squash. This would be a cool costume for whenever you open the door when men and women are trick or treating.

I wish I had a small dog to try some of these costumes on. We used to have a black lab and one year we dressed him up as “Fire Chief Dog”, but he didn’t like it too much. I think the family is going to be doing some sort of Disney theme this year, so I’d love to see if there are either any Toy Story or other Disney themed costumes for dogs.
