As dog owners and passionate animal lovers we all enjoy having our pets as involved as possible in our everyday lives. This of course includes having a four legged companion for all major holidays and Halloween is no exception. With many websites offering durable and creative canine costumes it may be easier than you think to find the perfect Halloween get-up for your favorite mutt.
Stop chewing those blue suede shoes!

Your pooch will feel like a king in his Elvis dog costume!
This “king” is sporting an adorable, sequined Elvis cape and bell bottom trousers! All of your dog’s friends and female admirers will line up to drool, sniff and wag with your stylish hound dog! And the possible hound-oween options don’t stop there! You could take the king of rock theme one step further and supply other doggie visitors with a sock hop party.
And their male pooch pals will love a stylish greaser inspired leather jacket or even a simple “James Dean” rolled white t-shirt!
Hosting doggie dress-up holidays, whether they be an Elvis dog costume, a sock hop party or even a haunted howling evening, can be extremely fun for both hosts and guests! And are a sure way to fill any day with laughter and celebration.
If you are looking for a unique and creative alternative to the traditional holiday gatherings this year, consider organizing a “dogliday”! Start by gathering all of your dog’s poochie pals from the local park, puppy obedience school or even from around the neighborhood! Then send out invitations to request the necessary doggie dress-up requirements, and get together!
Let the canine costume craziness begin!
Oh, and if you want to match your little Elvis dog, you can get your own
Elvis costume!
I actually have a small connection to Elvis Presley in that I’m his 3rd cousin. I never met him although my dad played with him as a child.
I guess for that reason I have always had a fascination with Elvis. He was almost too “pretty” to be a man! And his voice was so versatile. He sang in many different venues. From Rock and Roll (which most say he invented) to soul, gospel and country. The only kind of music I think he passed on was opera.
Elvis was also a fairly decent actor. He starred in 33 movies.
Elvis was born in a tiny shack in Tupelo Mississippi on January the 8th, 1935. He actually had a twin brother who was still born. He had no other brothers or sisters.
Elvis died much too young, at the age of 42. I suspect he would still be alive if he had had an ordinary life instead of fame and fortune. But he had a greater destiny. Elvis Aaron Presley died in his home in Memphis, Tennessee on August 16th 1977. R.I.P. Cuz!
Thanks for stopping by Halloween Dog Costumes.

Great costume ideas. We have a costumed pet parade each year at the resort I work at, and will share these costume ideas with the pet owners. It would be fun to go with a theme such as the 50′s At the Hop and give an award to the best “Elvis”.

I freakin’ LOVE Elvis! I have an Elvis room in my house. (It’s technically my dining room but I really don’t need a separate/formal dining room.)
I’ve only managed to get my dog in a costume ONCE and normally she’s a happy dog but when I put that costume on her she just looked so dejected. I wish she were a “clothes” dog because I’d so get her an Elvis costume.

I’ve seen it all now – an Elvis costume for a dog?! I loved the picture with the labrador in the pink dress. I just wonder what the dogs think of it all.

I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have never thought about dressing up my dog in a costume until I stumbled upon your fascinating website. But now I am wondering what would be the most appropriate special wardrobe for my wonderful Jack Russel terrier, Keiffer. Maybe shades and a fedora hat like the Blues Brothers, cuz Keif is one cool pooch. He would never put up with anything too pooftified like a clown suit or the like.

Wow! Some people say that Elvis is still alive. I am a believer in reincarnation so could he have come back to us as a dog? If not you have it spot on – we can make people think he has. The king will always live!

If Rob think that Elvis may come back as a dog then it will be my dog then
These costumes are awesome and maybe you should highlight some Bruce Lee’s costumes. Thank you for these article.

Well, if our CATS would wear clothes, it’d be a TEE! Our neighbor Chris has two yorkies that she dresses up all the time — dog clothes can be so cute.

The pink wig on the dog looks hilariously cute! Pair it with an Elvis costume of your own and you’re all set to be head-turners.
Hey, cool! You’re really Elvis’s relative? Interesting! Do you have thick, gorgeous locks as well? My dad is an Elvis fan. Actually, I really think he’s just envious of his hair
July 7th, 2010 at 10:40 am
I really wish I did get his hair Sabrina, or his beautiful eyes. Unfortunately I don’t look anything like Elvis.
July 12th, 2010 at 4:07 pm
Oh well. Still … you are his relative. My dad thinks that this fact is close to impossible. Lol! He couldn’t get over it when I told him! ;D

No doubt, your pet will love the attention once he is wearing the King’s costume. Do you also have some reference where you can get Superman or heroes costume for dogs?
