Halloween dog costumes are such a festive way for you and your dog to celebrate Halloween.
Halloween is such a fun time of year. It’s a time when we get to be creative and pretend to be someone else. If you have a dog, you can dress him or her up too . How cute is it to see a dog in a Halloween costume? Most dogs seem to enjoy the experience and love the attention they receive when they are in a Halloween outfit made just for them.
If your dog doesn’t like wearing the costume, and tries to shake or pull it off, you can try a few things. Start a week or so before Halloween so you dog will have a chance to get used to the costume. Put on one part of the costume such as just the cape or just the leggings and let him get used to that. Give him a treat and praise him big time when accepts the piece of clothing on him calmly. Leave it on about 5 minutes and if he seems ok with it, add another piece of the clothing. If he doesn’t react well, try again an hour or two later. Do this every day and by Halloween, your dog should be very happy to wear his cool Halloween costume. If your dog just won’t adjust to wearing a costume, you can always wrap a Halloween themed bandana around his neck or even decorate his collar.
So, what kind of Halloween dog costumes are available for your pet?? Almost as many as there are for people! You can have them dress up as Super Hero characters such as Super Man, Wonder Woman or Bat Man. You can dress them as movie characters such as Yoda or Darth Vader from the Star Wars movies, or Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Or even a spunky pirate dog costume. You can dress them in story book characters like the Cat in the Hat. You can even dress them like comic book characters like Dino from The Flinstones .

Astro Dog Costume – The Jetsons Costumes
Another fun cartoon character dog costume is Astro from the Jestsons.
Your pup can also go with movie characters such as Indiana Jones or Darth Vader. There are so many ideas for cute dog costumes! You can see the options are unlimited.
Little dogs seem to do the best with wearing costumes. They are easier to dress and seem to crave the attention they get in their outfits.
Whatever size of your dog he’s sure to enjoy a Costume party. What a fun idea to have all his playmates to come over for some treats (dog treats that is) and fun.
Big Box pet stores such as PetSmart and Petco often have promotions in their stores around Halloween where you can get your dog’s picture taken in his costume.
Dogs love to be the center of attention. And she will get plenty of attention wearing her very own costume. Your dog is part of your family and wants to celebrate Halloween too! What better way than with a Halloween dog costume?

This Halloween Costume for Dogs is the cutest site! Gives me great ideas for our Great Dane (his name is Slinky). The Astro Dog Cotume would suit his personality.
Thanks!

OMG, so cute! I am definitely gonna get a tutu for my bulldog this Halloween. She’s a gentle giant, and she’d look really funny in a little pink tutu…

The costume for my dog this year is going to have to be the prison dog costume. My dog can be a bad dog sometime and maybe this will set him straight!

I think I want my dog to have a Star Wars costume this year for Halloween. Maybe I will try to find a Darth Vader outfit for him.

Oh my gosh! That video is hysterical–not just the dogs and the costumes, but the music goes really well with the images. I might have to get a dog just to dress it up for Halloween.

In all seriousness, if I find a pirate costume to dress my dog up in I would. That would be so funny. Also, possibly a pet cat as well, they could be pirate buddies.

We bought our little Chihuahua a Santa Costume last year. I finally got a photo of her in it, but she looked at us with a look that said… “I can’t believe you’re dressing me up in this!” It was too cute!

I always say “Dogs are human too”. Every dog I’ve ever had has thought they were human. I love my dogs like a member of the family. I know there are a lot of other people like that too and these costumes are great. Really love the astro one but all of them are great. Kids would love it if their dogs dressed in the same costume don’t you think?

Wow! I never realised there were so many costumes for dogs. I love the Prison Dog costume. This will be a buy for me. Thanks for all the tips.

I think the flower dog costume at the top is just darling. I think it’s the antennas that do it for me. Too cute. Our dog doesn’t try to pull clothes off, she just goes in-mobile. It’s like we’ve tied her up or something. Poor thing just mopes around. Dog costumes are so fun though.

After looking at all these costumes, I am definitely going to go out and buy one. The frog prince dog costume is perfect for my little guy.

My favorite costumes are the ones where the dogs are prisoners. Not that I think they should be locked up but the running joke with my family is that our dog thinks her name is “NO NO BAD DOG”.

I like the prison dog costume the best. We are a dog friendly business as well and we cater to the real estate business for dog lovers, we will definitely recommend your site to some of our clients.

I have a doxie and purchased the Hot Dog Costume last year for Halloween. She looked adorable but it was all I could do to keep her from “eating the buns.” I can’t wait for this year. I’m already thinking the bumble bee for this year. Great site!

Love the Jetson’s dog costume. I was looking for that exact one. Sort of looks like he’s been carried on the other dog’s shoulders. Cute as can be.

I’d love to see my dog Harley, who is a big boxer in the Dino costume as that is his personality!
